the best thing to do is to put your sugar in while you are steeping the tea or when you are boiling the water- this way it fully dissolves- when you ice it, you don't have to keep stirring the sugar back in and have it settle at the bottom. Sweeten to your own liking, I use about 1/2 - 3/4 cup of sugar per gallon- some people use a cup but that is toooo sweet for me !

I use 3 Luzianne family size tea bags and 2-3 cups of sugar per gallon of water. Bring the water just to a boil, steep the tea bags for 2-5 minutes, add the sugar.

before you make tea to drink, make some tea put into ice cube trays and freeze, then get 2 cups boiling water, add tea bags(I like my tea really strong so I use 2 tea bags per cup, so I use 14 tea bags) and 1 cup sugar in large pitcher, stir till sugar is dissolved and then add 5 cups cold water, then in each glass add tea ice cubes, this way your tea will not be watered down. Add wedge of lemon or sprig of mint to glass.

All these methods have there own discrepancies. Best option is to log onto: www.cookinforengineers.com and look for Lemon Iced Tea in the Recipe page.

I place two family size tea bags in a small microwave bowl, set on high for 4 mins. Let stand for 2-4 mins. Add four scoops of sugar (one full cup) to a gallon pitcher. Pour tea in pitcher, (hold the bags with big spoon) , run cold water over bags in bowl and continue to press bags to drain all the tea out as you continue to run the water over. Stire, fill glass with ice and pour tea. HMMMMM...I need another glass now. LOL
Hope this helps.

be sure to mix the sugar with the tea while it is still hot, the heat breaks down the sugar so you don't have little snow fall at the bottom of the pitcher.
I have always made the tea with a coffee maker and some tea bags, it works.
