Well, it seems to be rooted in early Christianity; all the first Christians were Jews. The early practice was for Jewish Christians to continue as observant Jews, but not to require gentile Christians to keep to the Jewish practices. So, from a Christian point of view, it seems okay. I can understand that Jews would be upset about their members converting to another religion. But Christianity grew out of Judaism originally; we really don't mean any disrespect for Judaism. On the contrary, we honor it highly.

Well, Messianic Jews would be the original Christians, now wouldn't they? After all, the first Christians were Jews.

I find "JewishGirl's" comment curious. She said that Messianic Jews are considered "Christian" and not "Jewish". I thought that Christianity WAS a branch of Judaism, originally. Do Jews consider Christianity to be heresy, like Christians think of JWs and Mormons?

If Jewish converts to Christianity want to keep their Jewish holidays & culture, what's wrong with that?

As a Christian who believes that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah, I think that all Jews should accept Jesus as their Messiah. Of course, this won't happen until Jesus returns.
By the way, there are 100s of Messianic prophecies in the Hebrew scriptures that were fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ.
I hope this doesn't offend the Jews out there, because I love the Jews, even if they don't believe in Jesus.

Messianic Jews are Jews who have come to realize that Jesus is the Messiah that the Jewish bible prophesies about.
How do I feel about them - I feel absolutly joyfull and delighted that we have the same God & the same Messiah - Jesus! I have attended Messiaic Jewish Sabath "church" and it is awesome.
I hope this answers your question.
The more I study the Old Testament the more I love the Jewish people. I would love to visit Israel someday.

It is Messianic Jews..... Messianic simply means the belief in the Messiah... Christianity by definition is Messianic because Christians believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah prophecied in the Old Testament. For Messianic Jews it simply means they are people of the jewish race or follow the Hebrew faith and have come to recognize Jesus as the Messiah...... I for one think its wonderful and have many Messianic Brothers/Sisters.

Very deceptive cult that targets uneducated Jews for conversion to Christianity.

How do I feel about it? I don't agree with them, but they are entitled to the same respect real Jewish people are. Let them worship how ever they wish.

Messianic Judaism is an authentic form of Judaism (if anything the most consistent with the Tanakh).

No offense meant.

Cordially,

as a jewish person, i find "messianic jews" distasteful. officially judaism does not recognize messianic judaism as being a sect of judaism either. we consider them a christian movement.
