Is Meeting Somone from Online to Hook-Up Much Different than meeting someone at a bar or club?

Is meeting up with someone on the net to hook up with them much different than meeting someone at a club or bar and going back with them? I feel as if there is a stigma with the net but not sure if I just am nervous.

I know I am likely to a not so attractive person however I would also fall into this category

I always say the Internet is like the new CB radio I met my hubby
almost 21 years ago on the CB. So no I don't think it is. My son meet his girlfriend on the net (the new CB) But make sure you don't meet this person in a private place. keep it a busy place
like a shopping mall or a busy park or something. Good luck

Alot of difference here!! The net can be dangerous, to many child molesters and rapist can get on line.... better to meet someone close by and local, less chance of running into a bad guy i would think!! But a club is no place to find a good guy either!!!! They are just looking for a one night stand or a good time!!! Most are married or have a girl at home!!!! meet someone through a friend is safer!!! or at work or school !!!

Personally, i think "hooking up" is kind of nasty, but the only reason I would say it is worse on the Internet is that you do not see the person before hand, so you do not really know who you are getting. Didn't you see all those child molesters on Dateline??

no it is totally different . atleast at a bar u can see what they look like and half the people that are online LIE about themselves anyway...get out and find someone and get off your buttt....
