There are some of us. :-) Finding out how many . . . now that would be an interesting survey. As a Catholic convert, I find the teaching to be wonderful and difficult. But the Apostles and Saints felt the same way. Christ did not tell us to take the easy road . . . He told us to take up our cross and follow Him. As for being shaky in your faith; we all are at some points. Find some good people to talk to and good books to help you through those times. I reccommend the forums at www.catholic.com (they are not working right now, but I'm not sure why, so hopefully they will be again soon).

As a cradle Catholic my self I can only say that following the magisterium and Doctrine to the letter is almost impossible. I say almost because there are some people that have managed to follow the Churches Magisterium and Doctrine completely. But if you do not don't think yourself any less a Catholic then those few that do. Following these to the letter changes your life completely. You lose your own time and It all becomes Gods. I do not say that in a negitive way but that if one were to devote their life to all that the Church say we should do and believe we would not be living Gods true will. That will is Freewill. Freedom to choose and to decide... As a Catholic I believe in the basic truths That Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the Savior of Man, I believe that Mary is the mother of God and that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God who lives within us all. I believe that Abortion is inherintly wrong and that we all have a responsibility to preserve the sanctity of life. I believe that marriage is a bond between a man and a woman. How ever there are things that I do not follow according to the magisterium such as the use of birth control. And not working on sundays. Honestly there are things that the Church asks that I have chosen not to do. At the same time the same could be said about our blessed Church. Doctine and Magisterium only go so far as to give direction to those who don't have any but when the Church begins to falter and fail it's loving servants questioning ones faith is to be expected. Finding Strength in Christ our Lord and supporting the community of the Catholic Church should be solice to one who is questioning or "shakey" in their faith but to try to be the "perfect" Catholic will only serve to confuse and further seperate one who is questioning... So in response to your Question no I have not followed All the Magisterium or Doctrine... How ever there is so much that I really believe that nobody can follow it all. Whether they try or not simply because it is hard to know it all.

I was raised Catholic and followed the religion into my late twenties and found myself studying the bible and not understanding the connection with the Catholic Church.
After much praying and guidance God sent true messengers to me and I learned that His church had been restored and upon the earth. I hope you may find the truth. I am much more of a disciple now and actually do follow all the commandments and live my life to the full extent of representing the Savior in my daily activities. Peace and God Bless.

I tried very very hard to follow it all but because i married a noncatholic it became impossible to follow all the rules. I have done lots of studying on my own to try to find out if the catholics are right in all their doctrine or not. I agree with them on some things but not on everything. But i wish you the best in sticking to your believes and catholicism.

I am one among those who believe and follow the doctrines of a catholic church. ( though not all )..and contrary to how you feel because here in our country Roman Catholics are of the majority group as compared to other religions....I am happy with my church and I love it to death....

did God write the doctrine of the catholic church?
judgeing by the ammount of times that they change it i would say NO...one does not usually change the words of his god.
so is the doctrine really that important... what you need in the christian faith is belief in Jesus and God and to accept them as your only god and allow them into your hearts.
nowhere does the bible say that you must give a 10 percent tithe to a church,,,nowhere does it say that you must go to a church or a priest... actually i see a priest as an idol...an idol is anything that comes between you and god.... in the catholic religion you must confess to a priest...so that the priest may forgive you for god...NO MAN IS THAT POWERFUL.
oh by the by i am not christian but i am an ordained minister.
peace be with you

Follow the Bible. Catholocism holds its traditions higher then it does Biblical doctrine.
They believe in Heaven/Hell straigth after you die, when the Bible describes death as a sleep. Also they changed the 10 commandments about 3 times.
read exodus20 and compare it to your catechism
