You would be looking at approx 110 words per minute.

When I learnt Shorthand at school, to take shorthand at the average speaking speed would be around 110 - 130 words per minute.

We were taught the best way to practice this was use newsreaders as practice as their voices are trained to read at so many words per minute

Hi

How i learned in school was to put your fingers on the keys....

left Hand:
baby finger on the A
ring finger on the S
middle finger on the D
pointer finger on the F

Right Hand:
Pointer on the J
middle finger on the K
ring finger on the L
baby finger on the semi colon

then the teacher had us practice ASDFJKL;
and keep doing..then not looking...etc....

there are typing books and games out there to help...practice makes perfect...
