I named my Cesare (Chez-uh-ray). He's named after the illegitimate son of a pope that went on to become a great warrior and conquer a great deal of land. It just cracked me up to name such a sweet and cuddly thing after such an evil dude.
I've already decided on my next cat's name: Ubermensch. It means Overman in German and is a Nietzschean principle. How awesome would it be to say your cat is Ubermensche because he has overcome his manliness to the point that now he's a cat?
Okay, so yeah, my sense of humor is warped.

Squirrel and Turtle...
Turtle is a tortoiseshell (I didn't name her) but we named our cat Squirrel because as a kitten he'd sit up like a squirrel and stay that way for a long time, just checking things out...plus he's gray and loves to CLIMB!
I also knew a big brown tabby named 'Hank',
a mean ol' cat called 'Jack' (short for jackass!),
and really the best was a big fat orange tabby called 'Chimi' which was short for chimichanga!

Shut Up and DOG (spelled out and said fast it sounds like DeeOhGee) were the names of the cats next door. One was loud and was always told Shut Up...and eventually came running when you yelled that out...the other one thought it was a dog and walked with you and the dog around the neighborhood.
