Wouldn't a good God understand that because of His vastness and greatness over human beings that there would be doubt of his existence, and accept all who lead good lives, try not to sin, and always try to do what is morally right? I mean, how is getting into heaven fair to people in other religions besides Christianity and Catholicism and other religions along those lines?

"For God's wrath is being revealed from heaven against all the ungodliness and wickedness of those who in their wickedness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God himself has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes-his eternal power and divine nature-have been understood and observed by what he made, so that people are without excuse." (Romans 1:18-20)

You see? We are without excuse. If someone lives in an area where Christianity is not known, but seeks after God in their heart, God will give them more light. As they act on that light (or I prefer, revelation), they are given more to act upon.

The story of Irina Ratushinskaya from the former Soviet Union is but one example. At ten years old, she started seeking God because of mandatory atheism class. She decided that if the state was so insistent that He didn't exist, He must be very powerful. As she acted on that, she ended up, over a period of time, becoming a Christian in an officially atheistic state.

It's not fair - but some Christians don't seem to be concerned about that and their defense is because Jesus said so, the Bible says so, etc. Then they claim that it's not their decision, they didn't make the rules, but God did. It's a circular argument that I find to be incredibly discriminatory and narrowminded. And it's one reason/belief/practice that I know that I and many others have problems with Christianity.

And what is infuriating is when a person claims this - "only Christians go to heaven" - then he/she turns around and says "only God knows who is in heaven". Well - which way is it ?!?!?! Take a position and stick to it.

According to the Bible, there is no excuse for not knowing God. Romans 1:18-20. Look around, and you see evidence of God. His Creation is evidence that He exists. If a person chooses to deny this, they are not without guilt. Ignorance is no excuse.

(ask officerduffus, or whatever his name is-ignorance of the law is no excuse)

Getting into heaven is not a matter of fair or unfair. It is a matter of following the rules as they are laid out. God made those rules, and everything He does is right and just.

God's will is the standard for what is good. You're seeing things from your perspective, not his. If he is all powerful, why should he have to change things to make YOU happy?

Disbelief is a form of distrust and rebellion. When God says "I Am," he's not kidding. It's not open to discussion, and it certainly isn't going to change just because you don't like it!

If your parents said, "Don't steal candy from the store," shouldn't they just understand that you're young and not as educated? Shouldn't they just understand that you couldn't control yourself, that you had to have it?

The rules are established by the person who is in power. People who have no power can complain about the rules at their own perril. They can ignore the rules and face the consequences. But they cannot change the rules. God is the ultimate authority; your opinion is not part of his decision making process.

I believe a good God would most definitively understand humans doubting His existence. In the end you can be a "blind" follower, or ask yourself questions, and have doubts, that may in the end lead you to faith, or to realizations of God. In the end all there is is faith, but to blindingly decide to believe is like repressing human normal mental activity and curiosness, and thoughtfulness....
That´s what I think...

Of course. He understands us far better than we will ever understand ourselves. As for His being unfair, well, He created the world (and us), so He gets to make the rules. He knows how different people are. Our knowledge and perception vary greatly. Faith is the common denominator; the great equalizer. If we come to the Father in reverent love and trust, confessing in Christ our sins and our doubts, He will strengthen our faith.

First an answer to your first question......does God know what we feel like when we doubt? YES, thats why Peter is one of the most written about disciples of Jesus---study this!

Also: when Jesus was on the cross (taking on the sins of all) he said: my God my God why have you forsaken me? At this moment he experienced what it was to have God turn away from him. Read romans for your answers about non-christian salvation.

Dont test Gods exsistance. God is a good, wonderful, caring God and no one can never take his place not a soul, not a spirit, no one anywhere alive or dead can never take his place.

We only have one simple thing that Gods really wants us to do... it's not difficult and only takes about a split second... Believe...

If that's to much for you then don't blame God...
