Iron bars (wrought iron) with spaces too close together for tiny bodies to get through, but open enough so that YOU can see through it. You do NOT want a fence that you cannot see through from the house to the pool area. Also a wrought iron fence lasts longer than wood, doesn't warp, looks good painted, can easily contain a spring-loaded (self-closing) gate, and will last for the life of the home if taken care of.

Something that is not too easy to climb over. But barbed wire on the top of a wooden fence...also keeps cats out!
