Dukalink600 is right. Just because some bozo confesses to a murder doesn't mean squat. Kerr is smart. He is setting himself up to make a fortune.
He knows that the DNA and other evidence will dismiss him as the killer. Kerr will be free to go, but will have the media crawling at his feet offering him book deals and television rights to his story. Easy money.
Great idea though. Confess to a high profile cold case, and you will be free and wealthy the rest of your life.
The real killer, probably the dead mother or the father, will never be caught. Look at how those parents paraded their daughter around like a 6 year old prostitute.
I just saw in the news this morning (8-24-06) that Kerr's family is already negotiating a deal with the media. I wrote my original note suspicious of Kerr's intentions here a few days ago.
