Yes, because you do it before you are actually husband and wife.
Besides, how do you know you will be married to that person? Just because you think you will or say you will, doesn't mean you actually will. I was engaged to what I thought was the man of my dreams and we had known each other a long time - grew up together and dated for a long time after we were friends. I told myself it was ok to have sex because we would be married anyway, so it was ok if I lost my virginity to him because no-matter it would be him. Well, guess what? We never got married and I gave him my virginity and he gave me his and we never got married. Let me tell you - once you do it with one person, it is a lot easier to do it with another - be careful, and don't risk losing it to the wrong person, because yes it is a sin.

Many people will say if you wind up marrying that person then no... However, things happen...
If you have to ask the question, then you probably shouldn't do it, because you already think it is a sin and you know that it is wrong... You are just trying to get yourself to change your mind and be justified in doing so...

Yes. It is fornication, and God considers that a sin -- as well as lust. The Bible says if a man is acting unseemly toward the woman he is dating, he should go ahead and marry her, because it is better to marry than to burn with lust.
