To electrical engineer. I am going to use a bank of 12vdc deep cycle batteries as my input. I want to get single phase 110/220 household current. The inverter would use transisters,mosfets,diodes, resisters, capacitors,i.c.s, etc. In other words like a regular small 300 watt inverter, but deliver 10,000 watts output. Some companies already make them, but i want to build my own. I have also written to universities and am waiting for them to respond to my question also. Thank you

More information is needed before anyone could provide this. What voltage in and out, 3 phase or single phase, what type of inverter do you want to build, power quality requirements?

The simplest to build is probably driving the appropriate generator with a DC motor. 10kW, good luck. What is your DC power source?

Edit: 10kW is still a lot for 120/240. What kind of waveform do you expect? What do you need that much power for? This is not a trivial project. You don't say UPS but that is all I can think of a battery inverter being used for. What is the charging power source for the batteries?
