Charles Tart proved or so he says that an Out of Body Experience had occured, he put a number (5 digits I think) on top of a ledge above someone that was sleeping in a lab type setting and monitored that person, apparently this person when they had woken up was able to say what the number was but yet it required that the person would have had to stand on something to see the the number, which they did not do.

If this happened, would this not be proof that an OBE had occured, and so prove that there is indeed a soul? Thanks for answering my last question by the way.

In answer to one of the answers, I have books on all metaphysical subjects, I'm currently studying to do a conscious OBE. To answer another question here is the source http://www.near-death.com/tart.html thanks for all the helpful answers though, my main question was has anybody heard of him, and I'm glad somebody else has and calls him a pioneer!

It would only be proof if indeed this tart guy was unbiased in his findings.. if he wanted to prove that OBE's occured then his findings would be suspect

I always liked the story of the guy that had a man on a very accurate scale at the moment of his death. now when he died everything stayed on the scale. their was no blood driping from off the scale. If the dead man lost bladder control or deficated at the moment of death all of his fluids stayed on the scale. But from when he was alive to the moment of his death.. the weight of the scale was 7 Grams less when he died and after. Where did those 7 grams go?

tart was one of the pioneers in the general area of consciousness development. huge amounts of research have been done since then. google: astral travel, soul travel, lucid dreaming, remote viewing, to "catch up". also you might find http://www.sahajayoga.com interesting. cheers :-)

i believe , however there is also the possibility that the person sleeping read the number telepathically from the testers open mind/ also he could have clairvoyantly picked it up~~~or else a little faerie jumped up on his bed and whispered it in his ear,,,,,

I'm skeptical of this. Could you give documentation? I would be interested in following up on this.
