i was trying to install windows XP Service Pack 2 to my computer and chosed upgrade option and then the installation went sucessful ( i thought) untill the installation bar reach 100% but after that the computer got restarted unexpectedly again and again for 2 hour
and then i went to BIOS set up, and activate multi-boot option ( enable F12 function) and then restart the comp but now boot it from CD-ROM and then a window pop-up and said :This computer Is being Upgraded To Windows Operation System, What u Want To do? 1. Continue Installation 2. Cancel Current Installation and Instal Another Windows 3. Quit Installation,so I typed 1 then the display showed : Starting Windows, and icon Windows XP showed ( as when we normally turn-on computer)but then it stoped and message showed : windows has shut down in order to protect your computer from damage. i tried recovery console too, but no use, still same stop message.pls tell me what to do. Thanks...

Try to start Windows in safe mode. (Press F8 after the first startup screen.) Go to add/remove programs and uninstall SP2 if it is there. See if Windows will restart normally, if it will, restart in safe mode and install SP2.
