You are being exploited. I know you care for this child, but you need to look for another job. You should have defined hours and you should be paid time-and-a-half for overtime, anything over 40 hours per week. And you should definitely be paid on time. You are partly responsible because you have tolerated the way they treat you for far too long. Get some backbone and speak up for yourself! But you may want to explore other job opportunities, because if you do assert yourself, these people may decide to get rid of you. Don't let your love for this child keep you bound in what is not much better than slavery. You need to love and respect yourself enough to change this situation.

It sounds like you are stuck between a rock and a hard place.First get another job(one that pays you), offer your services on certain nights. Since you care for the child have sleep overs at your house that way you can keep a watchful eye on the sittuation. If you do fro little while and feel like thing are not going well for the little one you need to make some phone calls for the little's sake

I would line up another job, then give the parents an ultimatum. They must pay you on time and you should be getting overtime for all those hours. It is important to let yourself be heard, or they will take advantage. The truth is, if you quit, they will have another nanny in a day or two.

You need to quit working for people who do not respect you or the job of parenting more. Then you should call your local Child Protective Services and report them for neglect. It might wake them up enough that they will act like responsible parents from now on. If not, at least you will find employment where your employers respect you and your work.

I think one of the laws in most states requires a "nanny" to report child abuse.... FYI ...neglect is abuse whether you think so or not
it is your responsiblity as a "nanny" to report this and if you dont you should not be allowed to be anyones nanny
do it for the sake of the child ...she will be better off
and your not being paid why are you still there ... if you really loved that child you should report the ABUSE because thats what it is

You should write them a letter telling them how you feel and also that you are considering leaving for another position.
I hate people like this,I mean you are taking care of their child for goodness sakes. You should be the FIRST person they pay. They are taking serious advantage of you and treating you really crappy as well. How sad:(

Quit. They surely won't hesitate to fire you, if they don't like what you do - like, demand fair treatment.
You already know from the way they treat their child that they won't be fair to an employee, who ISN'T as important to them (supposedly) as their own child.
