Yes. When you COSIGNED the bond you were garaunteeing that he showed up in court. When he didn't they have every legal right to make you pay them the bond amount or take posession of your property to cover the cost of the bond. And if they can find any information that you know where he MIGHT be, not exactly where he is, but close to it, they can get a warrant for harboring a fugitive out against you. If you read your bond papers you will probably find all this information located in the paperwork.

yes he can it doesnt really matter what state you're in as long as they are a federal bondsman , which he must have been seeing that he let you post bond for someone.

Bond agents have the responsibility to exercise care and protect the personal property put up for collateral aspects of using collateral should also be familiar to the bond agent. Bondsmen are liable for negligent acts regarding the collateral or business dealings. The bond agent should not discriminate based on race, religion, or national origin.

They can not issue an arrest warrant but they can do about everything else. Bails Bondsmen have a lot of leeway to collect. The "I never knew I was suppose to be in court" reason never works - they have been there & heard that way too many times.
If you know where he is, I would give him up & beg to keep my stuff.

You would just forfeit your bond. Bounty hunters want the bail jumper, not the person. They are threatening you in order to scare you. Call your local police department and report the harassment and threats. What they are doing is illegal. Even tho you paid the bond in one state and live in another, the harassment is taking place in the state you live in, so your local police or sheriff has jurisdiction. I am a 17 year veteran of my police department. Don't let the bondsman harass you.

a bond that is revoked is open to any bounty hunter. they will try to get the person who jumped bond first. if unsuccessful, then they try to get the money from the cosigner...so if you don't have the money, they will try to get your stuff!

they can't take your welfare or social security. they can take your stuff. i say empty out where you live and tell them you have nothing. stop co-signing bail bonds. tell your dead beat b/f to turn himself in. tell him to be a man and handle his business.
