GOD! What is wrong with some people!!! People ask questions on here because they NEED advise, NOT TO BE JUDGED AND DEGRADED for the question they ask!

I have 3 kids, 10, 5 & 3. My 10 year old was a quick learner (completely potty trained by 2) my 5 year old took a little longer, but he was potty trained soon after 2. NOW MY 3rd was almost 3 before he was completely potty trained. Your child probably is not lazy. there are a lot of facts to take into consideration. I will list them below!

1. Do you work and does your child go to day care? If so, the day care may not be taking enough time with the child while they are there. So when they are home with you they are confused.

2. Do you get "Upset" when they have accidents? Sometimes, this upsets the child more than it helps. I am a little torn on whether or not to get "upset" with a child that is now 3 and "should" know better. All children are different. Find which method works better. I have a friend of mine that finally started disciplining her son after 3 1/2 years and it worked for her. I myself found that encouragement and rewards worked better. :)

3. Is he/she on a day-to-day schedule/routine. If life is hectic and always on the go more than you are at home, a child does not want to go "Poop" just anywhere. Nor should you let them. If this is the case, change your routine for a while until the child is comfortable in their surroundings.

I hope this helps. I respect you for taking the initiative to ask such a question. I am sorry some people are so quick to Judge other people instead of tying to help!

Children vary tremendously in the age at which they're potty trained. One child in my family wore diapers until 4, the other trained himself by15 months. Respect, patience, expectations that match her physical and emotional capabilities - that's how you help your daughter.

Most children are not lazy. Laziness sometimes occurs after initiative has been ridiculed or beaten out of kids. Even if a child is too engrossed in an activity to leave it and use the restroom tires of that after a few accidents.

I wouldnt be so quick as to call your child lazy.. my child had probelms till she was 8 pooping her pants.. come to find out it was a medical probelm that needed attention.. she honestly couldnt tell all the time when she had to go. sometimes she could sometimes no.. we still have accidents once in a while but not near as often.. the doctor put her on some meds for a while and things got easier for her.. she gets constipation bad and that is when she will have probelms.. take her to the doctor and have her checked to be on the safe side.. my niece also had same probelm and hers didnt get fixed till she was 14 cause they thought she was just being lazy..

That is really disgusting. A 3 year old..and I don't care to hear about "it takes some kids longer to learn" should be not be going in her pants. Sorry, but the usual reason a kid is not trained is because the adult is too lazy to take the time to potty train. I suggest asking your doctor how to train a kid..then take the time to do it. Where I live, preschools and head start and kindergarten will not take kids who aren't trained.
Sorry Neicy, sometimes the truth hurts.

Getting a child to go poop on the potty and much harder then teaching them to go pee.

When she does go poop in her underwear make sure you take her to the bathroom and as you are taking her underwear off you explain to her that she needs to go potty in the toilet.

Get as much poop as you can off the underwear and have her try to wipe her own bum and to flush the toilet when you are done.

You can usually tell when they have to go poop, so if you notice her acting that way quickly take her to the bathroom and patiently wait.

Some kids take longer to poop on the toilet. Put her back in pull-ups. Usually if they have to go back into diapers it makes them decide to use the toilet so they can wear the "Big kid" underwear.

It takes some kids longer than others to get this down.

Be patient with her. She is the only one who can control her bodily functions. Whatever she does, don't punish her over potty issues.

You need to consult her pediatrician for professional advice. Patience and loving kindness are due on your part. A child only learns laziness from the people around them so I suggest changing your families ways before it's too late. Please learn the correct way to write the English language so it makes sense.
