i love to eat spicy foods, i.e. anything with chili powder, crushed red pepper flakes, hot salsa, jalepenos, etc. mexican and cajun foods are my favorite. i even like spicy/garlicky spaghetti sauce(crushed red pepper flakes and about 3 tablespoons of garlic powder, yum!).
however, my dad keeps telling me that it isn't good for me, and eventually after eating all of these spicy foods i will ruin my stomach lining and develop heartburn. i am almost 21, married, and have a toddler(who eats much milder versions of my food)...so i can ultimately make my own decision on this.
however, is there any medical evidence suggesting long term consumption of spicy foods is bad for you? i really didn't think there was, but please correct me if i am wrong. thank you. :-)

ok, yeah i will admit it keeps me regular, as does my morning coffee. but that's better than constipation right? lol. seriously, my bowel movements have never been of much concern to me. ;-)
