You should be able to walk into any church or temple and sit and think all you want. To be able to talk to a priest or minister or whomever is doing the preaching, you probably should call for an appointment. Before you pick a religion, if that is something you are trying to do, look at all the different beliefs first. Read about them. You can find a lot of them online and then look up to find where you can find a church that you think you might like. Go and explore a couple that are interesting to you before you decide. Go with whatever makes you feel more comfortable. You are not going to feel comfortable in a church where they pressure you to join or make you feel like you are going to hell if you don't believe as they do. Good luck!

It seems you are troubled in your life now. You have a big choice to make and you need some guidance and help. You are looking in the right direction. Yes there are many Churches but in the Christian Faith they have one underlying theme, They all believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior. When you are troubled, he can help you thru some really rough times.
Yes, you can go to any church and talk to a minister. You can ask the many questions you need to ask, if you go to the church near your home people should welcome you with open arms. It is a place you belong. Faith needs to be fed and cultivated. Before you go.... you can also do some praying to the Lord on your own. He is always there for you. It doesn't have to be a certain way ... just find a quite place by yourself and start to speak to him. Get all the problems and hurt out and let him shoulder your burden for you. Then by going to any church you will know that you have opened the way to understanding how to solve your problems. But let me say something about the answers you are seeking, they may not be the answers you think you would expect, so open your heart and mind and be awear of all that comes.
Good Luck

Yes, anyone can go to a church and talk to a priest. Just call the church that you want to visit and make an appointment and the priest would be glad to talk to you. They are very good listeners and can answer any questions you have about religion or life in general. Whatever you say to the priest is strictly confidential between you and him.

Anyone can go to a church and talk to a priest, however, you must first know what different religions believe. Diving right into Catholicism might be a bit scarry for you at first. Start talking first to a christain friend who might help you out. Slow and objective! You can go into any Church also, but, let me give you warning, Just because it is called a church does not mean all people are good. Go with a strong friend and keep your heart open. Good luck and God Bless your search!

Let me tell you a little bit about me.I'm Wiccan.I've been Wiccan for over 15 years and I find the whole subject of religion fascinating.I'm also very fond of the artwork in religious buildings.I've walked into almost every conceivable major religious building and asked permission to sit and look at the different kinds of artwork that the different faiths have and I have had some of the most intellectually stimulation conversations with a Cambodia Buddhist monk, a Conservative Jewish Rabbi,a Seventh Day Adventist pastor and a Catholic priest. They are people, just the same as you or I.And as long as you approach them respectfully, most of them are more than willing to talk with you, if they aren't too busy.Personally, the monk was my favorite. He had such a sense of humor!!!

Yes, you can go to a church and just sit and think. If you want to talk to the priest, just call the church and make an appointment. Be honest with the priest about your religious beliefs (or lack thereof) and just talk.
You can also go attend the Catholic Mass. Just sit and listen. You do not have to kneel when everyone else does if you are not comfortable with doing that.
You can Instand messenger me at everydaycatholic if you wiosh to talk.

Yes, I would like to say all, but honestly, I'll have to say most, priests will talk to anyone. Same for pastors, rabbis, etc. It's their job - and they make very good listeners.
I suggest asking someone you trust (best friend, parent, brother/sister) who they would suggest.
If you go to talk to a priest, etc. and get a wierd feeling - it could just be nerves, and you should steel yourself and go on with it - or it could be that you don't 'connect' with that priest/religion.
It is also usually quite alright to just go into a church and sit and pray/contemplate/connect with God.

The only people at least in the Catholic Church that are not supposed to be let in or come in and ask questions are those that are openly pagan or wiccians. Call ahead first to make an appointment out of curdesey.

Read this:
Joseph Smith History 1:11 While I was laboring under the difficulties caused by the contests of these parties of religionists, I was one day reading the Epistle of James, first chapter and fifth verse, which reads: If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Joseph Smith History 1:12 Never did any passage of scripture come with more power to the heart of man than this did at this time to mine. It seemed to enter with great force into every feeling of my heart. I reflected on it again and again, knowing that if any person needed wisdom from God, I did; for how to act I did not know, and unless I could get more wisdom than I then had, I would never know; for the teachers of religion of the different sects understood the same passages of scripture so differently as to destroy all confidence in settling the question by an appeal to the Bible.
