Uh, you may want to stock up on icewater and portable fans honey. No, you will not get to heaven on good deeds alone. Hey, gangsters have been giving tons o' cash to the church for decades...you think that got them into heaven? I wish it were that easy. Seeing how there are so many things here that can test one's faith in a greater power, deeds would be a whole lot easier! Then again, you know what they say....nothing worth doing is EASY.

Read 1st Corinthians 13... it depends on the spirit you have while you're doing it. And it's not the number of deeds you do. That has nothing to do with getting into heaven. Be a good person and love God. Anyway, it says that if you do it without the right spirit, it profits you nothing. So it should make you feel like a whole and better person.

The only "deed" that you can possibly do that will get you in to heaven is to accept Jesus as your Savior.

Without that, no matter how many wonderful and kind deeds you do, you will not make it.

I could never do enough good deeds to earn my way to heaven. It is By believing in the Lord and being forgiven, only by God's grace does that happen.

No. I try to live in a manner that allows me to wake up with myself every morning in good conscience. I try to keep a household that Jesus himself, or the Buddha, or the Dalai Lama would feel comfortable walking into and spending time in. I do not believe in heaven; I believe in progression and spiritual growth. We are here to make this life better, not to start our living only when we reach the afterlife. There needs to be more of a goal than "you will go to heaven when you die if you___" That theory has been used to keep the 3rd world oppressed for centuries, and its time is past.

Good deeds are a plus but you must also believe in God and have faith in him. Also, if all you do is focus on heaven, helping people for you own benefit, then your being selfish. Someone told me that earlier.

You can not get in Heaven through deeds. Read Romans. Eternal life is a gift from God, through your faith.

if you're doing the deeds thinking this will impress god then no. if you're doing good deeds because you are a good person then maybe. personally i don't think god factors in deeds when deciding.

god put us here to question his existence and to find our own image of god which is reasonable and acceptable. god has many sides to him, he doesn't neccesarily have to be the nice guy all the time. find the god that's right for you and honestly devote yourself to it. this doesn't mean however for you to go on a killing rampage because the voices in your head that you believe is god told you to. your relationship with god is personal, nobody else should be involved in any manner.

Ephesians 2:8, 9: "For it is by grave you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-Not by works, so that no one can boast."

No amount of good deeds will get you to heaven.
