US Coast Guard. The others cannot compare to treatment, advancement and sheer hands on experience. Most everyone receives shipboard firefighting training and if you chose Damage Controlman as your rate, you will receive more intensive training for firefighting and damage control.
Besides, only the Coast Guard SAVES lives...it doesn't take them except in times of war or when a Law Enforcement Team member is required to defend themselves. It is the closest training to police training as well.
It's got the highest ASVAB requirements too so you won't be serving with a bunch of morons.

The Marines have firefighters, more like the type airports have "crash, fire, rescue" and they are assigned to the Marine corps air stations. They rely on civilians to man their firehouses on the bases. As does the air force (they use civilians and servicemen to man their base firehouses) The navy has some firefighters abord ships but civilians man the firehouse on shore bases.
Why not get a college degree and really help yourself in getting a job as a firefighter? the degree will get you in faster than military time. I'd suggest fire science, personel management or just about any degree in science.
Good luck

The Air Force is the only branch of service that trains it's firefighters closest to civilian ones. All other Branches use civilians on their bases, and the Navy's version ..Damage Controllman.. is so much MORE than a traditional firefighter. besides, their fires are fought on ships.. and those suckers are tough to fight..JP5 is quite the accelerant.

No matter what job you have in the Navy, you will be trained as a firefighter. There are few things more disasterous onboard a ship than a fire. A DC man will do this exclusively on a larger ship, so that would translate to civ firefighting pretty well.
Why not go to the local fire academy?

For firefighter try the U.S. Air Force. Even other branches send their personnel over for training (Apprentice Fire Protection Specialist, Fire Protection Specialist, Firefighter Rescueman, Crash Fire Fighting, Advanced Fire Protection Technology, Fire Prevention Inspector, Fire Investigation, Fire Investigation and Firefighter Supervisor BNCOC all at the Chanute Technical Training Center, SC.)

as in you want to be a firefighter in the armed forces? that's easy.. the air force... it is the most technically advanced of the different branches and the people get treated better.
i have family in the air force, marines, army, and navy... take it from me, the air force is best!

Navy. they get pretty serious about firefighting aboard ships. You get to go to firefighting school. what fun. We had fire drills about every week and you better show up with the right equipment to fight whatever type of fire.

I am partial to the air force as my boyfriend is at the academy but marines by far are the most fit. Join the marines and you can do anything. Ok really go through basic in any of them and you can do anything lol

Navy has Damage Control Technicians, closest you can get to a fire man there, try the air force.... you might have better chance there, or join the Navy or Army and get medic training, you'll need it anyways for the fire/EMS
