I've heard that laundry soap is toxic to dogs and wondered if it we be ok to wash their toys in the washing machine w/ Tide?

Tie them up in an old pillowcase to wash them, and put them in a long cycle with lots of detergent. Make sure they are rinsed really well. Dry them in the same manner, in the dryer in the pillowcase. It works prety good. They don't come out looking like new, but they are definitely cleaner!

We wash all the dogs bedding and toys in laundry soap. I work for a vet and we use bleach on all the stuff at the clinic also.

Yes, it's perfectly fine to do that.
A tip for you: Especially if the toys have been chewed on, they'll probably lose some stuffing in the washer, so put them inside a pillowcase and tie a knot in the end of it before washing them. That way, if you lose some stuffing, it will stay inside the pillowcase and not get all over the inside of your washer.

Have fun doin' laundry. *smile*

this is how i feel. if it can go in the washer it can go in the dog mouth. if the washer tears it up so will the dog. i use soap the frist time around then i wash them again and only use vinager. that way i know all the soap is out. vinager cuts soap. i do all the dog things at once. bedding toys (all toys) leash, towels i only use for her. that way i do one load just with her thing.

Yes, I throw my dog's toys in the washer with a little soap and maybe some bleach depending on the color and they come out so clean, and then I let them dry on top of the dryer to air dry.

Just use a smaller amount. I wash my dogs toys this way, with no dye and no perfume laundry soap.

imho, depends on the size and how it is dried. small items that are dry after a normal run in the dryer is fine. try not to hang them, as the bottoms will stay wet too long and can get mold or mildew. large toys are a real pain in the butt. i bought a large stuffed animal from walmart, and it got moldy just from my dog's saliva not drying.

Yes, just make sure they are well rinsed. I do it all the time with my dogs toys! I just program in an extra rinse cycle.

I usually do an extra rinse cycle when I wash my dogs' blankets and toys.

yeah, just either use a smaller amount or rinse more than once. also, it's better if you handwash and let air dry the stuffed toys with squeakers. or else the squeakers are damaged and won't squeak anymore.
