The counselor told me that as long as I know the difference between my fantasies and reality, and don't get the two confused, I'll be OK!

Yes sometimes the Bible can be like a fairy tale e.g. David the shepherd boy killing a giant, Daniel amongst the lions, Noahs Ark, Jonah in the whale etc...
Putting that aside, the new testament was personal accounts of different people in different locations about one person - Jesus Christ. A bit like several newspapers reporting the same thing.
In one of the reports, Thomas asked Jesus how they would know the way to Heaven? What I find amazing was that Jesus didn't just say, I am the way, and ended there which actually answered Thomas question anyway. But Jesus also said that he is the truth. So he is saying that he is the real true way to Heaven.
He didn't stop there, he continued to say that he is the life i.e he gives life to us to enter into heaven otherwise we'll just be dead.
His answer is for all skeptics of today who ask 'How do we get to Heaven?'. Other religions have their own way to heaven, that why Jesus said that he is the truth and the life.

imagine there's no heaven
it's easy if you try
no hell below us and
above us only sky.
imagine all the people
living for today
imagine there's no countries
it isn't hard to do
nothing to kill or die for and
no religion too.
imagine all the people living life in peace
imagine no possessions.
i wonder if you can
no need for greed or hunger.
a brotherhood of man.
imagine all the people sharing all the world
you may say: i'm a dreamer
but i am not the only one
and i hope some day
you will join us and
the world will be as one

Hopefully they will stop being delusional and stop believing in myths that cannot be proved, and stop trying to cram those beliefs down others' throats.
Not everybody wants to believe in these things and then give $$$ to people like Jan Crouch from Trinity Broadcasting (see attached).

I've imagined that. God loving us so much to die for our sins is hard to believe. What a fairy tale ending.
Thank God it's true!!

now and then, but i look back over the years since i got "saved", and i begin to meditate on God's realness to me, and then the fairy tale becomes fact.

Yes. What is worse believing, dying and nothing happens. I'm dead, or denying Christ, dying, and finding out to late that I have rejected God. Ouch! That is Hot.
