they seem to not understand that their own relatives have often had abortions. they seem to support capital punishment. they seem to be hateful and want to hurt abortion doctors. they hate women who ask for abortions. it seems weird that such god fearing and "good people" would be so smug and filled with arrogant self ritiousness

Hi there ... I'm a believer ... a believer in God. The jury is out on Jesus. Along time ago a couple I knew got pregnant and got an abortion. It broke me heart. These are beautiful people.
It just made me so very sad that they terminated a life that they created. A year or so later they did get married and had an extraordinary beautiful little girl.

I still feel like the choice should be theirs ... but termination of a life is so very sad for even a borderline agnostic like me....now if you say it pisses off God too ... that's why Christians are so weird about abortion ... It feels so wrong. But, I believe in free will and free choice.

I am not weird about it, It is wrong! There is always another way and killing an innocent child that did not ask to be here, so so you can keep lining the way you want to live is wrong. Pregnancy is NOT an accident. Hurting abortion doctors is wrong, that does not solve the problem or help anything, besides, most abortion doctors are drinking and drugging themselves into oblivion because they can't handle what they are doing.
And don't even get into capital punishment, that is like comparing apples and corn- abortion kills innocent babies- capital punishment removes killers of the innocent from our society, BIG difference

Your first statement is not backed by evidence of any kind, as for my family, and the families of people I know, none of them include individuals who have had abortions "often". We support capital punishment because it is just punishment for taking a life. Let make this simple for you, Capital punishment - taking the life of a criminal who murdered someone. Abortion - taking the life of a baby who committed no crime. Get the difference? And no, we don't hate doctors or women who seek abortions. Before making statements like this, perhaps you should actually speak with Christians and get to know some, then you won't be prone to making foolish generalizations.

I am a Christian who does not hate anyone who has had an abortion. I don't hate abortionist doctors either (even though they have violated their Hippocratic oath to do no harm).

I do, however, believe that human life is precious and it begins at the moment of conception.

You compare abortion with capital punishment. Big difference. A man who is put to death for taking another life is not innocent like an unborn child is.

i know...i asked 3 times what all those prolifers do to help single mothers (to reduce the number of abortions). i only received a total of 20 responses. out of the 20 a few listed charities and ONLY one said that she donates to a program her local church has that help provide for single mothers.

i cant stand those people who are against abortion because it is an innocent life but for capital punishment because that person killed someone else. i did some research 4% of people on death row are later proved innocent. how many innocent lives have been taken by the government. also capital punishment is not a deterrent

I agree. To be ethically consistent one should be against both abortion AND capital punishment.

That is my position.

Please be aware that many people are opposed to taking of human life on ethical grounds and NOT on religious grounds. I don't buy any religious arguments against abortion or capital punishment.

In both cases, abortions and capital punishment, a life is taken because it is socially convenient to do so. So this is an ethical issue. The ethics of society suffers when you allow killing just because it is convenient.

Abortion cannot be compared to capitol punishment. To kill someone who has been convicted of horrible violent crimes is nothing like killing a baby because you don't feel like having one. It's probably the most rediculous argument there is. You should wonder why so many people are against the death penalty but support abortion? That's a much better question. "Save the murderers!! Save the Whales!! Kill the Babies!!" How much sense does that make?

First off if someone is a true Christian they don't want to see the doctors hurt. And I don't hate woman who ask for abortions, i feel it is wrong, because it is an actual baby in there. NOT just a fetus, a piece of tissue, or whatever u wish to call the baby. You just have to be around a pregant lady to see that there is an actual baby. To kill a baby is murder.
