If it's not every day, that's a huge problem. Where is that stored energy being used and how? The public school system, and I presume you're speaking from that perspective, is disheartening to say the least. If your child is getting less than that amount, please make it happen for them...and use the power of the PTA. Good luck with that!

I'm in Junior High...(yeah I know...I'm not exactly a parent :P) and I don't have PE at all...but I'm a special case...I take an extra elective and I have parental permission to not take classes that go in 9 week cycles like PE, art, computer education, and Home Economics...so I guess that wasn't a very good example XP...My lil sis in Elementary school has it once a week for about 50-60 minutes. Oh, yeah and if I did have PE it would be every day for 50 minutes for nine weeks.

My daughter had it last year in sixth grade twice per 6 day cycle. This school year they will be changing to a four day cycle so I don't know how it will be scheduled.

I'm in middle school/junior high, and we have PE every day. In elementary school, we had PE twice during every five days.
In elementary school we had it in 30 min increments, now it is about 50 mins each.

I think children should have some type of physical activity at least once every day . . . but unfortunately, it's not happening in our schools . . .
