I read "In the Heart of the Sea" (I think that is the right title) by Nathanial Philbrick (sp?) last year in a book club I was in. It is a non fiction book detailing the sinking of a whaling ship, and the ensuing time before rescue. It was interesting in that the story was told in a very factual way, not sensationalized, and when cannibalism did come up, it certainly made me think that I'd never be able to pass judgement on a starving person until I actually had been there myself. I'd like to think I wouldn't go there, but having read that book, nothing would surprise me...

Well, I've done a study on this before and normal people will usually end up eating other people when it comes to the point of starvation to survive. However, those who have mental disabilities like anorexia don't find food as important and it is easier for them to go with out it so they probably would just die before eating somebody. I don't know what I'd do because I've never been in that situation and hopefully NEVER will.

stranded without hope of rescue friend already dead. Like the sports team that crashed in the Andes mountains. The friends were already dead. God gave us the will to live.....Its strong.....

I'd do what I had to to survive. If it was somebody I knew, it would be hard but, although it may sound cruel, it comes down to two simple facts. They're dead and beyond help. I'm alive, and have the obligation to survive.

hey as long as I did not have to kill or clean them and they were cooked well I would eat human flesh any day of the week. Meat is meat.

I haven't eaten 4 leggeds in over 15 years... why would I want to eat my kind, I'm not afraid of death. Never!

I would never eat another person, the truth being that everyone carries immunities to different diseases and if you eat the wrong person, you die from the disease they carry but to which they are immune

Last resort. If I was out of food and facing starvation in any situation it would be a sure thing. No fun I'm sure.

eW the very thought of eating other person is so wrong to me.Yuck sick twisted gross.I couldn't no...I would rather die ew but then I would end up being food.Um.. just kill myself .I can't stand the thought of eating ummm..someone makes me wanna hurl.

depends how good friend but mostly id say no because mountains are cold and cold meat give you diarrea
