My husband and I had pictures taken of us with our attendants all wearing very dark sunglasses. Very mafia looking (especially since one of my cousin's was known to be in the mafia a long time ago).

Seeing that you like mafia movies so much... why don't you just copy what they have... i mean isn't that what real wedding is about any way... people are always trying to better there wedding because they want it to look better then (who ever's wedding)

As your watching just jott down some stuff... that you think is nice .... like the color or change it to your color but use what they have.... the old fashion tux... look up on the internet for those type and jott it down... check out the ballroom... look into the wedding accessories book that you find in your local 7 -eleven they have everthing that you need in that one book... i hope your not getting married anytime soon...cause you need some time to get it together .... good luck....

As for the music, i would try big-band music or stuff from the era of Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis Jr. Are you going for 20's era original mafia? You could have the bridesmaids dresses look like flapper's dresses. That might be fun! Good luck.

That would be so much fun! Pin stripped suits with black shirts, form fitting gowns (check out Romona Keveeza) I just made a replica of one of her dresses for a customer and that would look great for the bride. Lots of glitz and bling on the bride and her maids.

I would go black, white and red for colors. Lots of Red roses. I can think of a million senerios. I know you want to keep it nice and not cheesy so watch what you decide to do. It would be easy to run into a cliche with a theme like this.

Good luck!

I would think alot of black and white...with a blood red rose bouquet! Maybe traditional Italian food~ and lots of wine~ OR watch The Godfather or something similar and get some other ideas... Music ~Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin~ the guy who plays Junior on the Sopranos..has a cd out...Real Italian music....

three piece suits were really popular then. Look up flappers and mafia on google to get some pictures. You could make really cute invitations too. Tell them to RSVP our they'll be sleepin' with the fishes. It sounds like a lot of fun, especially if your family is Italian.

#1 gown
go retro - www.stephaniejamescouture.com

#2 enter in a classic auto

#3 rent a photo booth. have your guests use it all night and put the photo strips into a jar for you and your groom. take some in there yourselves as well

#4 hire a photog. team who understands what you are going for. ask them to bring a holga camera as well. they'll know what it is.

#5 go over music choices w/ your dj. choose music from the 20s 30s and 40s to compliment your theme.

Have Fun!

pin striped zoot suits for the males. And for the ladies, flapped style dresses with feathers in their hair. For the bride, a long string of pearls tied in a knot. And everyone should have gloves, to keep their hands clean.

And people wonder why the divorce rate is so high? A wedding is not an opportunity to throw a theme party. It is a serious commitment. Too bad you are not taking it seriously.
