DONT LISTEN TO ANY ONE OF THESE PEOPLE!!!
accept for the ones who mentioned sound dampening
1st of all there is no such thing as two much sound for your car. sky is the limit. you might not need that much power but its just good to know you have a killer sound system.
2nd of all i think that pretty much all cars rattle if you give it enough bass to make it rattle.
what you need is sound dampening. that stuff is especially made for gettin rid of the rattle and to make your "sound" more solid. it also sound proofs your car so that you cant hear the outside as much or at all. you can buy different sound dampening kits for speakers, door, trunk and so on.
heres a good selection of all the products you can get for a great deal

and thats about it. im about to upgrade my sound system to be way too strong for my car too.

dynamat, but you dont need the foam to apply it, all you need is a razor or knife to cut in and a roller(where ever you get the mat should sell these) it has adhesive already on it. You might want to get some expanding foam though for thos little rails with the holes in the ends that are around the metal on the trunk lid and where ever else you can get too, spray the foam in there and it will expand and keep the sound from bouncing around in there and help reduce body panel flex. Do that kinda slowly though as you might make a big mess if you put too much in there before it starts to expand

if ur ears can handle it and u can afford paying for a noise pollution ticket then so be it. here's what u do to stop the rattle: goto a home depot store and buy 2-3 cans of instant foam spray. goto a local stereo shop and buy 5-8 sheets of dynamat. take out the rear plastic panels, foam it in there then slap a sheet of dynamat over it. WEAR GLOVES!!! that foam stuff is nasty when it sticks to ur hands. also, get some blue painters tape and nylon trash bags and cover up the areas that u might mess up by getting foam on them. good luck.

i suggest cutting down the bass and using only 2 standards. the vibrations that cause your car to rattle ruin the sound quality. a good bass foundation is great, but overdone it muddies the whole sound. your subs are probably too big for the size of your car

New speakers. Your old ones were installed incorrectly and too big for the inside space of the car. You do know PEOPLE WILL HAVE TO SHOUT for you to hear them when you reach about your 30's.

Lower the volume because all the vibration is actually loosening some things in your car, really, it has been documented. Especially an older car.

Needs more bass! Just ask the mechanic that works on your car about this next time you have an appointment.
