My fiance and I are planning our honeymoon from the night of the 22nd to some time on the 25th of October. We want to go to NYC since the wedding will be upstate and we don't want to have to fly anywhere. The first question is what is the best website to find discounted hotel rates? Also we want to go to a broadway play but they are kind of pricey as well.. does anyone know how to get discounted tickets? Let me know if anyone has any other ideas on things to do in NYC that are cheap or free! Thanks!

to find cheap hotels go to www.hotels.com or www.priceline.com
but keep in mind that you are going to NYC and that it is an expensive city. if you can afford it check out www.themusehotel.com , it is a wonderful hotel located right in times square me and my bf stay there and we are actually going back the day after christmas (2nd time there this year). also check with your travel agent cause they can get you good deals sometimes. (if you dont have one contact me and ill give you the number to mine).

as far as broadway tickets there is a place in times square called TKTS. they are located right next to the Marriot Marquies in times square. this is how it works first you decide what day you would like to go see a show, then you decide if you want to see an afternoon show or an evening show,if you want to see an afternoon show you go stand on line at 10am if you would like to see an evening show you stand on line at 2pm. i stood on line about 20min and you just start talking to people around you,its not to bad and it moves fast cause they have about 8 windows. the tickets you get will be half off so you can get 2 tickets for about $100 and most of the time they will be orcestra seats so you will have a great view. ENJOY THE SHOW!!!

As far a free stuff to do you can always go and take a walk in Central Park the leaves will be changing colors so it will be really pretty, also if you hang around times square there are usually people handing out tickets for comedy shows that are really cheap, you can go to dave and busters (i cant remember what street its on but just ask someone where the wax meuseum is cause its right next door) ,as far as meuseums there are tons of them but if you can only afford to go to one i would suggest going to the meuseum of natural history it is amazing. the wax meuseum is awesome and you can take pics with all these famous people and it really big but it is going to cost you $60 per person.

also on a note if you are looking for a place to eat i would definitly suggest Bubba Gumps in times square.it has great food and the resturant is themed from all stuff from the movie Forrest Gump.

if you would like any more information or need help with anything please feel free to email me.

BEST WISHES ON YOUR SPECIAL DAY!!!

Go to the center of time square and they have a cheap ticket section. you can't miss it. they have discounts like 50%! And they have realyy great shows.

You could walk around time square and stuff to get a tour for free!

Also for the brodway shows i recomend Hairspray. IT was the best one i have seen in my life and it has discounts. Also Avenue Q I've heard its really goo too. It also has discount tickets in the place in time square i mention. They give you a list when get there. There will be a line and may look line but its probley a half an hour wait. Have choices just to make sure that if one of your choices are taken you have another one. If you see a show bring sharpies and pens so that the cast can sign your playbill after and they take picture too so bring a camera.

I know that if you go see Hairspray Diana DeGarmo will be there. She was on American Idol. Also Haley Duff might be there too!

Also,The Wedding Singer will have Constine Maroulos from American Idol.

Usher is is Chicago too! I know the people but i am not sure of the dates they will be there so check the websites. Check the web for the ticket place and they will have the complete list of shows. Good luck and Congradulations.

My husband and I went to Manhattan for our honeymoon. We went through Expedia and got a great deal on our hotel the Michelangelo, it was very upscale and near Broadway. We paid 180.00 a night. The concierge can get you tickets at a very good rate with a package deal through expedia. Be sure to take a carriage ride through Central Park and visit SoHo... Both are beautiful and fun.

www.expedia.com, or www.hotels.com or www.travelocity.com - basically search all the websites and see which offers the best rates. Then when you have the one you want then book with that site or go to google.com and then put in the name of the hotel you are looking at and see if they have a website - some do - then try to book with them directly and see if there is a difference in price.
Good Luck.
