its fun
a little nerve-wracking when taking off and descending, cuz its loud and ur ears hurt from the pressure changes
but overall its an awesome experience.
my first time on an airplane was when i was 6 and had 2 move from VA to CA. my mom just doped me up on benedryl so i slept most of the way. if ur nervous, just take benedryl and ull be set.

You will really enjoy it. Leave early enough to make it through customs and carry a book just in case you do get bored, although I don't think you will. It is an experience you will always remember for a first time. I always get a kick out of it just waiting for the plane.
More fun than a roller coaster and talk about flying high!!!
I have been flying for a long time and am like a kid every time I get on a plane. I always want a window seat so I can see everything. I just flew to Costa Rica last September, to Guanacaste Province, near the town of Liberia. I went on an all inclusive vacation. That is the only way I will vacation from now on! Everything was paid for including meals, drinks, even the tips, and of course the tickets there and back. For 8 days and nights in a motel overlooking the beach it was fantastic. Some of the best food I have ever eaten. Everyone there was just great and really went out of their way to make us comfortable. My blog has a few pics from there, sunsets, etc. All this was only $699 per person too.

I hope you have fun! It was a lot more relaxed before 911. But it's OK once you get up in the air! My advice is to sit by a window so that you have good view. Don't worry about crashing, flying is a lot of fun!

Shorter flights are more fun. Long ones get old pretty fast. The take-offs and landings used to scare me, but now I just think they are exciting.
If you have any tendencies towards motion sickness, I would not bring a book. Listen to music instead.

Bring a book. I typically bring a book with 500 pages for a two-hour flight. Lasts me the first hour of the flight. Yeah, I read fast.
