We have a 7 year old Husky female, and she has been peeing in her sleep. We found multiple spots from here she had slept and pee puddles. I'm really concerned because my dad got super mad when she did it on the expensive suede couch. Any suggestions besides seeing a vet? We could, but I would love just a no cost answer?

If we did take her to the vet, can anyone estimate the cost to get antibiotics/medicine/anything else? Based on what i've heard she may have:
Hormone imbalance
Spay problem
Bladder infection
Kidney infection
or just be a Sound sleeper

AWW! Silatuyok is adorable!! Thanks for the info! I might have to take you up on that offer if the pills she got yesterday don't work.
UPDATE:
We made an appointment with our local vet for yesterday. My mom asked my dad "What if it's like $300?" My dad shrugged and replied "It doesn't matter. Her health and happiness are pricless!" I was like whoah! Cause hes really old fashioned, he doesn't beleive that sweatshirts are $40 and jeans can be up to $200 (well at Abercrombie anyway!)
So my mom and I took her, they ran a urinary test (i think?) where they put a needle in her bladder and drew some urine then tested it for an infection. I was so nervous that that might be a traumatic experience so I was making my self sick while my mom and I ran arrends while they did the test. We came back and the vet talked to us, he said that she doesn't have an infection but there are a lot of red blood cells in her urine, so he put her on a 10 day supply of some big name pills (Ill get it later

You could get her doggy diapers, (for real) or let her only sleep in one spot like a blanket or dog bed and get those puppy traing pads and put under her where she sleeps.

My female labX has this too (and she's not overweight) . I believe it is spay incontinence which can be treated with hormones, but since my dog was only 6 when I found out she had it and hormone treatment can be bad on the other organs we opted not to put her on the hormones. I changed her diet to an all natural food, free from all grains and artificial perservatives and take her out about 15 min. after she's had any water to drink. During the day she sleeps under my desk on top of a pee pad and at night she sleeps in her bed (which is on the floor next to our bed) She very rarely wakes up in a pee puddle now (I try and take her out often when we're home and when we're gone I don't let her have any water). My dog is now 10 yrs old and is very healthy other than the fact that she does still occassionally leak in her sleep if she drinks too much water before she sleeps (like I said, as long as I take her out frequently when she drinks and don't let her drink a large amount in one shot, she does good).
You should take her to the vet 1st though to rule out any other health problems - When my dog 1st started this I had a complete urine test and blood test done to rule out any other health issues.

I had this same issue with my 4 year old German Shepherd. I took her to the vet and she did not have a bladder infection, which was my guess. The vet said that her bladder sphincter was not staying closed tightly like it is supposed to. She put her on a daily medication called PROIN and she has been continent ever since. The medication is $17 a month but well worth it! Good luck!

there are alot of websites that offer advice about dogs and their problems that might be able to help a bit better. Theres a website called irishanimals.ie/meetingplace that you may be able to post your question. May i suggest letting her sleep on a carpet or blanket in the kitchen or a room with tile. If this is a problem its probably best that you keep her off anything expensive. Although you dont want to hear this if she were my dog i would bring her to the vet i know its a bit pricey but i am sure your dogs life is worth more to you than all the money in the world and if its something shes doing all the time she may have a health problem that needs to be looked at. best of luck and do let us know how she is. Sounds like she has control issues that have nothing to do with behavior. Your vet will check for a bladder or urinary track infection. It may be as simple as needing antibiotics. But, it is better to go see doc now, before the situation gets worse.

My dog peed in his sleep when he was sick. But I think it was just because we were giving him a TON of fluids, enough for a small child, and he's the size of an infant. He would wake up afterwards and whine and whine until we let him outside and cleaned it up. ;)
My first move would be to take him to the vet. And tell your dad to chill out. He shouldn't have been letting a new dog sleep on his couch.

my cat was leaving quarter sized spots of pee on the comforter in her sleep. and she smelled like pee. i took her to the vet and it was a bladder infection. this is probably what's going on with your dog. but it could also be a kidney infection and that is much worse. this is a symptom of a problem. take her to the vet. 7 is too young for her to become incontinent.

She is having a hormone problem is my guess. Is she overweight and spayed? Both of those make it more apt to happen. Have her sleep on a blanket on the floor until you take her to the vet. There is medicine that can help her. Good luck.

My sisters dog had a problem like this and she was spayed. The vet put her on estrogen and it helped. I cannot say for sure what is the problem though, you can check around and see if some vets are less expensive, I know I had to for my dog.

You should get like those fence crate things that are really big and lay down some puppy training pads inside of them and make her sleep the night there.
That is so cute that she does that.
Also, if you didn't want to spend money, why did you get a dog?
No offense, its because my three dogs are like my kids well im only 20 years old but if they need anything i get it for them and yes its not cheap having dogs. But if you are not willing to see a vet?! What if its serious?
