"if the shoe fits..." is used to imply that there is an obvious conclusion to presented facts, usually about someone's personality. It's kind of like "well, what else am I supposed to think, given what I've seen?"

It usually goes, "if the shoe fits, wear it"

Meaning basically what it says, but "shoe" can refer to anything.

Its the same as if the glove fits. Basically you're saying I'm not saying something about your self but if you are that then that's what you are.

If some one is describing you and that's how you are. own up to it. Ex. He's a jerk, you may be acting like one so cut it out or you should own up (admit to your self) to being a jerk . Or "he's a help full person. That means you are help full and if some one needs help you usually help them. When you help them you are owning up (doing or acting as you are known to be)to being a help full person.

Usually used as an insult, though not as spiteful and cruel as others. A subtle insult.

"...wear it." A reference to the Cinderella fairytale, I guess. It means you are the person to do something...or that something is fitting for you.
