World war II was the reason that women had to start going out to work because all the men were away @ war. They didn't necessarily want to go out to work and leave their children @ home. I know a lot of Mothers nowadays who would much prefer to stay @ home and see their children grow up, take care of the home, and have a meal ready for their husbands...but it doesn't work like that anymore. If men did their job properly and brought in the $ then maybe the women woudln't have to work. Another thing is 50% of marriages fail in the States so when that happens how are women supposed to look after themselves and their kids when the the marriage doesn't work??? Life has changed since the Victorian times so stop being such a chauvinstic and narrominded man and wake up to reality!!

that isn't the case much any more since women do sometimes make more than the man does. Myself being a guy could care less if she makes more than I do. So catch up to the times so what if the guy stays home with the kids.

Yeah, subconsciously they know because we all know how much the men help out in child rearing! The women get stuck with the responsibility because the father is too immature to step up to the plate. So in a way, yeah. By the way, you are a chauvinist!

if you want to go that way then guys are really good for only one thing too. a woman can do just anything a guy can do. we can work outside the home and inside that home without any problems. if women are only good to guys for the sex then why the hell marry us then. if we turn things around then guys are just sperm donors.

True that. But to make ends meet, woman are working more. I would love to be at home with the kids, the so called "traditional role" but in the new millenium, not happening....

if that is what they choose to do then so be it.I personally feel like it is a blessing to be able to stay home with the kids and take care of the house while your husband works so very hard to support you.....SO YOU ASK DO WE KNOW OUR PLACE?
