Our practice owns an Outpatient Surgical Facility, scrubs cannot be worn home, they are laundered by a professional laundry facility, our scrub nurses cannot wear personal scrubs in the OR.

jcaho requires that when in the OR suite, you wear scrubs that are laundered professionally using special soaps and antibacterial agents. nurses or other OR Staff are not allowed to wear their own personal scrubs unless they are laundered ONLY by the laundry facility. even any jackets or other long sleeved attire for covering up when youre cold needs to be specially laundered.
