Boy, there's sure a lot of misinformation about my faith in these answers! Just goes to show you that, if you want the straight scoop, you need to ask someone who belongs. I've been a faithful Mormon since I was about twenty years old, and am still amazed at all the silliness that is put on the web!
We certainly do believe that Jesus Christ is devine, the Son of God, to respond to just one falsehood found here.
Then there's the strange idea that there should be no additional scripture because there's a couple of verses at the end of the the Book of Revelations. Those verses say one should not change what is in that book. A similar admonition is in the law of Moses, but most of us carry around a Bible with 66 books, not five. What John said to close the Book of Revelations can't mean there should be no additional scripture, because John picked up his pen and wrote the Gospel of John AFTER he wrote Revelations! If the books in the Bible were arranged cronologically, John's gospel would be the last word written. It ends with an admonition that the world could not contain the books that should be written.
Personally, I investigated most of the charges agains my faith BEFORE I committed myself to it. The answers I got from my Mormon friends made a lot more sense than the slanders against the Mormons.
But, what sealed the deal for me was the Book of Mormon. When I read it, it resonated with my soul just as the Bible does. I know it sounds a bit strange, but my prayers were answered, and I knew it was inspired scripture. That changed my life, and the result has been absolutely wonderful.

I like the Mormon Church I went to, very nice, organize in structure and teaching, Mormons are nice people too, and I felt God in the Church.
I notice there was no cross on the wall, I ask why, one said, we don't want to be reminded that He suffer in pain. I said well you should.
I done some study on Joesph Smith the founder of the Church, many good, and bad things, some contradiction on things that happened.
One Mormon said that they are the true Church, I said that Jesus is the true Church.
Mormon's use two bibles, the Christian type- regular bible, and their bible translated over by Mr. Smith from the golden plates, that the angel led him to that he dug up.
I don't believe praising Joesph Smith as much as God.
I am being truthful in opinion, nothing more.

Some of the nicest people there are,but also wrong. Some of these things you might not know yourself.Mormons(teachings that is )believe that Lucifer and Jesus are brothers. The Bible teaches Jesus always was and Lucifer was a created being that sinned and fell. They also teach that when Adam and Eve sinned that Lucifer wanted to forceably get mankind to repent of course Jesus didn't so there was war in heaven. The people who stayed neutral were punished by having dark skin. That's their explanation for black people. They teach that if you are a good Mormon you get YOUR own planet to be God over. There's so much more ......but they are good folks, family people, love their country, heck I even like Mitt Romney, not to mention Wally Joyner and others, but you are wrong about who and what God is(they say "as we are ,God once was,as God is we will be")that's blaspheme big time and don't quote ps.82 either that was for the Judges of Israel. They don't believe in the virgin birth, the eternal existence of Jesus as God the Son,etc etc.The trinity to them is 1+1+1=3 Gods, christians believe 1x1x1=1 God in 3 persons.Just remember this was not a hateful blog just honest

I think that their missionary program for their youth is a really neat thing. I think that they have a strong community and family is paramount for them. I also think that the Book of Mormon is not the teachings of Christ or Moroni or whoever. I am kind to the missionaries who come by and I feed them cookies and chat with them because so many other people are rude and I like to try to be a considerate person.

The only thing I have a real issue is how only Joseph Smith saw the tablets--at least when Moses delivered the tablets of Ten Commandments others saw them. I do think that it is cool the Mormon Church is into family and researching family trees

The Mormon records are real, and the words of the prophet are true, however the church is imprisoned in its exclusiveness. This will not stop the prophesies from being fulfilled, and for the records to fulfill their purpose. The current leadership of the church does not have the answers as to how this will occur historically. They are waiting for signs.

The Church of LDS denies the Deity of Jesus, yet consider Jesus a great prophet, and use His Holy Name to identify their Christ-denying church.
Other than that, they're mostly nice folks. But what's with the secret handshakes and mysterious rituals among their leadership? Maybe a Masonic Lodge connection?

my step dad is one...
in my opinion, I'm sorry but i do not agree with the religion at all...
i get the no alcohol, and caffeine, or cigarettes...
but i don't get some of the other things about the religion, like why is there an addition to the bible, in the bible it tells us not to follow any other books but the bible, right?
if that were true you guys wouldn't have an alternate book...
i also don't like how they treat the women at the church...
it might not be all of you guys but at the one my step dad attends, all of the women are basically baby machines, and they don't have a life...
what is it also with marring such young women when the men are like 40ish??
i guess this isn't all but I'm tired of thinking about it now!

I think it is an affront to Jesus the Lord of lords that such a church exists ..but hey, Jesus can deal with any of mankinds affrontery.
J. Smith gave three different accounts of what happened when he had his first "revelation" so I kinda doubt he had anything real going on. His decision to commit adultery but say God made the angels force him to have sex with that woman ( bill clintonish if ya ask me ) was silly and immature. Jesus said we may not lead anyone else into sin. And GOD defines sin for us because we are too childish to define it ourselves or we might pretend we are god and that we can change the rules. God doesn't force us to enter into sin so Joseph told a lie. I don't appreciate that much. Any kind of adultery for any reason.. this ridiculous sealing practice etc... God said lust after no one elses wife, but Joseph taught people to do it because he wanted to do it. Jesus said we may not lead anyone else into sin.
Mormons say they follow Jesus the Lord, but in actuality follow a man named Joseph Smith who will have to stand before God like all of us. Jesus said if we love Him..we obey Him... Joseph Smith is not Jesus nor is he even close to being Jesus. Joseph Smith was just a guy who liked to have alot of sex and get away with it. Just an ordinary man, no more and no less. Jesus is the Lord. and Jesus said follow Jesus, no other name is mentioned there to follow.
As for Mormons themselves.. I tend to love them because seems like everyone I ever met loves God. I have never yet met a lukewarm Mormon and that is cool. But fake scriptures taught in that church do not match what Jesus said to the disciples in and around Jerusalem.

In my opinion Mormons are not members of the Christian faith. Mormonism is a different religion entirely.
