yes... i believe that too. the bible was written by people, not god. so how can we believe everything written in it? we cant. stories get changed over the years, and incorrectly translated. just because u believe in evolution, or that adam ate the apple and eve was innocent, doesnt mean you are going to hell.

if u want a looser religion... u should think about joining the episcopal church. we are extremely lenient. in fact, in CT we have a gay bishop. we dont believe that gay people or people who have sex before marriage, or any of that go directly to hell, like baptists believe. we believe that god is understanding of our flaws, and will forgive us as long as we believe in him.

If you believe that many of the things in the Bible are mistranslated or fake (which they obviously are), then what makes you believe that God is real and there is a Heaven and Hell? If the Bible considers Jesus walking on water a miracle, and then people later figure out he was probably walking on ice, if they couldn't even get something that simple correct, then what makes you believe that the ideas thought up by Bronze Age cavemen 2900 years ago is still true? You're halfway to the truth, my friend.

In addition, if there is a God and everything (hah.), you're probably fine. Bibles were extremely rare until Gutenberg invented the printing press, and even then they were rare for hundreds of years after. Very few people had access to Bibles, so assuming that one has to read the Bible cover to cover and believe every line would be saying that most everyone, even the most devout Christian, from more than 200-300 years ago, would have gone to hell.

I believe so. I just read an article yesterday that pointed out the only sin that God may not forgive is believing in Jesus Christ.

So if you think there are some things about the bible that might not be 100% accurate, as long as you love Jesus Christ, and believe in him... he'll guide you toward what's right or not, pray that when you read the bible he helps you understand what you need to know. I think you'll find that helpful..

Yes you can go straight to Heaven.

God knows we are not perfect, and that we don't have all the answers.

I believe the bible, although I do have an open mind, and if man had a hand in it, it cannot be perfect.... especially after the wording has been changed in translation so many times, that's like some one who thinks they know how to fix, and know everything on a computer, things get changed or reworded.

Course you can.

It's proven fact that the bible has been changed, and a lot of the stuff in it is clearly ridiculous. A snake telling Eve to eat an apple and then she'll know right and wrong?

It's just a story. Allegory.

If you want to believe in that the story represents then you are more than free to do so. I'm no Christian but I'm sure your God won't mind you thinking for yourself.

Not only can you still believe in God, ( because with free will you have that choice)but you can also question invalidates if you believe them to be.

We never learn anything unless we ask, and I can assure you that if you need the answer, and you do not understand it, if you believe in God, and trust in God, then the answer will be there.

Be careful that you are not discrediting something in the bible because of some PERSONS explanation.
As human we all are fallible, and can make mistakes, or take something out of context.
The Holy Spirit will guide you.
God bless.

Take what is good from the bible and god will be pleased with you. Whether from the bible or other religious teachings the common factors for one to attain rebirth in heaven is to do good deeds, avoid evil and purify your mind. Purifying mind means to let the mind natural essence of Compassion and Loving kindness arise and develop into Perfection.
Take care.

God is the only judge. But you have to remember...the Bible is the inspired spoken words of God...study it..I mean really study it..and ask for the Holy Spirits guidance.

Satan believes too..and would have you think that the bible is untrue..be aware of the enemies devices.
