I use to have really bad panic attacks almost to the point where i could never leave the house. If I did i would have to know where the nearest hospital was. I couldn't travel more than 10 minutes away and I hated to be in crowds of people. My heart would race, i was afraid to close my eyes in fear i was gonna die, my stomach was always uneasy, i jumped at the slightest sound, they finally put me on a anti-depressant and some counseling, and then anxiety medicine and something to help me sleep at night, they told me that sugar and caffeine makes the condition worse, and to make sure that you get plenty of exercise to release some of the pressures of the day. I only get panic attacks once in awhile now but they are so much more manageable.

I was diagnosed with panic disorder a few years ago. I went through counseling and take anti-depressants for it. It has helped me a lot. The counseling helped me be able to control my anxiety better. The drugs help with the chemical imbalance in my brain. Before treatment I did not get a lot of sleep and I no longer was interested in my usual activities. I was constantly worrying about little things. I drove myself crazy. After treatment I am a lot better about being anxious. I still have an occasional panic attack, but now I can identify triggers for the attacks. I can usually tell when I am at a higher risk for having one. Good luck, there are much worse things to have, even though right now it might not feel that way.

I have General Anxiety Disorder, and Social Anxiety Disorder, on top of Clinical depression and Post Tramatic Stress Disorder. It got to the point where I didn't go anywhere, and couldn't function. Therapy and meds have helped tremendously. I still have a long road ahead, but it I feel so much better. I can't believe the difference already. What treatment are you going to be getting? If you want to talk about it, contact me.

I did have a serious anxiety disorder for most of my life. I suffered alot. One day I woke up and decided to go for help. I went to a therapist. She said I had generalized anxiety disorder. Sent me to a psych and he put me on meds. I am so much better. I'm sorry I did not go for help along time ago. I suffered so much before the meds.

I have Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) and dysthymia (mild depression). I tend to ruminate over stupid stuff I've done (kick myself for it over and over).
I bought a set of stuffed plushie M&M characters (one green, one blue, one yellow, one red, and two very nervous-looking orange ones). I learned online that the orange one is named Crispy. Now I have a full set of these characters, plus an extra Crispy. I gave another Crispy plushie character to my therapist ("this one, of course, has generalized anxiety").
