i know the FSM is new religion, but are they serious? how can that be a REAL religion, and what do pastafarians believe in? whats with this religion? what does it mean? dont mean to offend anybody...

I'm not certain myself, but Ramen is a type of Holy Noodle consumed by many of college age. As for Pastafarien, I have no idea. I would appreciate "Pasture-farian" then we could all go out and lounge on the grass...besides, the Flying Spagetti Monster is the giver of meatballs and fine cream sauce...okay, I'm trending into the realms of the silly..whooha!!!

The FSM is a 'concept' based on Intelligent Design. Because the IDers refuse to speculate on the nature of their Intelligent Creator, some rather smart individuals invented the FSM to fill in the missing information.
In essence, it is a way of notifying the religious who thought they'd snuck Creationism into the Science Class that because the Intelligent Designer was not described, we were free to imagine the IC as being an extraterrestrial.

Ok, I'll be honest and say that it while it is taken seriously, it is not taken, well, THAT seriously.
And RAmen is a version of Amen adatped to fit the pasta theme.
Well, now that I think of it, it started off not serious and is becoming more serious - but it is still a good sendup of foolish ID'ers.
