How do people consider relationship stages these days? Do you think it's perfectly ok to be dating other people in the early stages? If you agree to see each other exclusively, is it implicit that you are now on the road to engagement and marriage?

In your opinion, when does dating become "a relationship"? How long was it before you asked the person to be your boyfriend and girlfriend? Did you officially discuss it, or do you think most people just slip into the "you are my girlfriend/boyfriend" stage without needing to formally talk about it?

I guess it's different for different people.Slipping into the b/f g/f thing could lead to misunderstandings in the long run. I know from my past experiences communication is vital to a relationship of any kind. The two people involved need to be on the same page and agree on what is or what will be or not be. Like how serious this relationship is going to be or not be. Do we commit to one another or is it going to be just a friendly one where it is open for the two people to date others. It takes time, effort and honesty I can assure you of that. Good Luck!!!

Me and my boyfriend (who is now my husband as of last wk) started talking first and going to do things together and then my sister said he wanted to go out with me, but didn't know if I would so he asked me and we started dating. I think alot depends on the people dating.

Dating is just that, If you feel more for someone, you should let them know. Later on you will be getting hurt if you only want to spend time with them and they only want to "date"
