I would definitely do something. My sister started hanging around shady characters when she was 14 and 15 and I was 18 and 19 and thought well it is just innocent. So after the Innocent relationship stopped then started a serious relationship with a guy that I hated. He was in his 20's and she was 16. I know you hate to but if you do not say something then this can lead to even worse situations. I did not see it when I was younger but now (5 years later) she is still in this bad relationship. If I had just told my parents or stopped it myself when she was 16 it would have been so much easier. She has spent 5 years of her life with this dirt bag who has cheated on her, talks to her like trash, and ruins her self esteem. He has recently broken up with her and she is still in love with him and will just wait for him to call because she "loves him" and "he will realize how good I am to him and come back". Well he comes back for sex and that is about it. Take it from an older sister that hates herself for not saving her sister earlier. PLEASE DO SOMETHING.

You have plenty of legal options to take to keep you sister from leaving the house and moving in with this man, but of course the best way is to help her see the error of her ways. If that's not an option ...

Are your parents or any others with custody in the picture ? If so, they can call the cops and the cops will bring her back to the house. She is legaly still a minor (unless she has been emancipated, in which case she is considered an adult). In the event, that she refuses to be taken back to her parents' house. They will not leave her with this man. They will have to assign her a social worker and place her in temporary care so that they can evaluate the living situation at home. I doubt she's prefer this to living at home.

As far as the action you can take against the man who your sister is living with, if he is no legal guardian then, again, you can call the police and they will have to remove her. He has no claim and she is a minor.

If they are sleeping together, or you suspect they are, you can have him charged with statutory rape and get a restraining order so that even if she wants to see him, he has to stay away from her. If he violates the order he will be sent to jail.

All of these options, though effective, can turn very ugly. Especially in the eyes of a hormonal and emotional teenager wiho just wants to be with the one they "love".

As far as if it's normal for a 15 year old to be with a 20 year old. From personal experience, I think it depends on the maturity of the child. And to a point immaturaty of the 20 year old. Without knowing anything about either party, I'd say it's unconventional to say the least, but it depends on the situation. By moving out to be with this guy, your sister has shown that she is not ready to be in a mature relationship.

By allowing a minor to move away from her family and be with him, this 20 year old has shown that he doesn't have the best inrest of your sister in mind, and isn't ready to be in a mature relationship yet either.

I have had this problem with my younger brother and eventually all worked out well. I hope that is does for you too. But either way, nothing should ever come between family, so always keep the doors open.

There are things that can be done. Your sister is a minor. Your parents can file a runaway report with the local police department. Get juvenile authorities involved too. The 20's something is committing a crime....Statutory RAPE....and charges could be filed against him as well.

DO something today before your sis gets pregnant .....

The very thought that your parents are allowing this to happen is appalling. 15 yr olds are not mature enough to make a life altering decision to being on their own. They're not self supporting and what kind of message are your parents sending this 15 yr when they are not putting forth the effort to seek out the 15 yr olds safety??????

Honey, tell the parents. I know that sounds childish, but your sister could get seriously hurt. The man is 5 years older than her! Normally that isnt much of a problem, but he's a full grown man, and she's still in high school. Go to the police if you cant go to your parents. I dont know what else to tell you. You probably have loads of other advice better than this, but I'd feel horrible just passing by when you needed help. I hope everything works out.

No it is not normal and is illegal. 5-10 years apart in age is nothing when both people are over 18, buy when the girl is 15 and the guy is over 20 there is a problem. He is either a Pedophile who only dates underage girls, or he just wants sex, or he is in love with her. All 3 are bad and you must tell someone, whether it be the Police, Child Services, or a parent. if you care about your sister, do something!

I've had an ex schoolmate, a 16+yr oldgirl, who had a relationship with an older man a few years back..He was probably late twenties or thirties. I didn't know the result at the end, but even the best result wld not be an accpetable one. Even if they are in love, can she handle the stress? I believe she would still be schooling? In my ex-schoolmate's case, eveyone in the school would start to b*tch about her and talk crap behind her back saying how stupid she was. Worst case scenario is that, like everyone had mentioned, he is a perv. Furthermore ur sis had moved in with him? She is too young and gullible for at this age. U shld monitor her closely and talk to her to get her out of it. If u have a chance or things get out of hand, contact the local authorities.

Yes, you can do something.
Tell your parents, and they should call the police.
If they don't, call your sister and say she has 20 minutes to clear out of that house, or you are calling the cops.
He is a child molester, whether she thinks she is in love or not. She is a child, whether she has big boobs or not.
The longer you wait the more of a mess this will be.
When she is GROWN, she will thank you, right now she might try to stab you.
If they are really in love, he can wait until she is legal, so he is not visiting with her from jail.
Your parents should be dragging her back home.

No it is not normal A man in his 20's is too old for a 15 year old. What do they even have in common? Sure is maturity because she isn't even out of high school yet. Obviously he is only using her because she is so naive. He should be with someone closer to his age ..and if he can't find someone there is definitely a problem.

Even if your sister is the 'mature' type. He is too old for her. He can be and should be prosecuted for statutory rape. If he loves her so much, then he can wait 3 years and be with her legally. Hes probably just using her and filling her head full of B.S. because she is so young. I know if I was 15 my mother would not be having me sleeping with a 20 year old man and just waiting to see what happens. Snatch her up out of that house and have to police with you just in case he tries to get crazy.

Where are your parents?!?! And no it isn't normal for a 15 year old to be with a 20 year old. That is actually illegal. And you could do something, call the police and let them know he is with an underage girl...not that will make your sister happy but if you are that concerned.
