HOD IS A PROBLEM WITH THE GROWTH PLATE IN LARGE BREED PUPPIES. MY 6MO. OLD MALE IS LAME IN BOTH FRONT LEGS. SHOULD HE BE CONFINED? WILL IT PASS? SHOULD I DO ANY THING ?

Here is a link that has proven helpful for other dogs that have HOD
http://www.greatdanelady.com/articles/help_my_puppy_has_hod.htm

Unfortunately the other cases I have known in other large breeds really are a symptom management sort of thing. Keep puppy comfy, make changes in diet. Do read the link and get ideas. Contact your puppy's breeder and let the breeder know what is going on. IF other puppies in the litter also have HOD, then I would hope that the two parent dogs not be bred to each other again. (a bad nick!)

I'm so sorry if you or someone you know is going through this. Poor puppy! :(
