Tell me about it... My mother AND my younger sister always barge in my room without knocking, it's almost as if they're trying to catch me doing something wrong! [The only person round here to knock and be polite is my dad, and I am so grateful!!]
I gave up on bedroom privacy a long time ago. When I really want to be alone, I go to the bathroom, lock the door, and have a nice, hot bubble bath!!! You should try that sometimes...

A girl's closed door is meant to be opened. Or failing that, leaning against it and listening through the door using a cup.

If closing the door isn't working, then lock the door. That will take care of any intruders.

you should always be able to claim some personal space. as a human being, not just as a girl, a bit of privacy is essential to a person's sense of well being.
