Hi,
Girls any girls and teens tear or otherwise dilate their hymen while participating in sports like bicycling, horseback riding, gymnastics or inserting tampons, or while masturbating. A girl may not even know this has occurred, since there may be little or no blood or pain involved when this happens. The tissues of the vulva are generally very thin and delicate prior to puberty. The presence or absence of a hymen in no way indicates whether or not a female is a virgin. * You are a virgin until you have sexual intercourse.* If you're still worried & can talk to your mom, I would.

Don't panic. Did the same thing when I was your age during gym class. Same type of symptoms, my mother took me to gynecologist and it was a slight tear between outer and inner labia. The thing you should be concerned about is avoiding any type of infection. Keep the area clean, use a topical antibiotic (available without prescription). The area should heal in a short time. I hope this has helped. But I really do think you should tell your mom, this is nothing to be ashamed about. As a mom, I would certainly want to help my daughter and I know she would want to help you. She can take you to a doctor who will alleviate your fears and set you on the right course of action. (As for tearing your hymen, well, I think it's going to take more than a couple of cartwheels...)

Don't be afraid to tell your mother. Trust me she will be more concerned about your health than anything else. At 13 there are so many things we think we know but trust me you have no idea. If your mom takes you to the doctor tell your mom you would like to be left alone with the doctor and ask all the questions you need to. Later when you feel more comfortable talk to your mom. It will be hard for her but she should understand. I know I would feel better if my child talked to the doctor instead of someone else.

It's not very clear, since you haven't said much about it, but it sounds like your hymen broke. Many women break their hymen though sports, rough activity, or using tampons or whatnot. It doesn't take sexual activity or masturbation to do it. See a doctor if you don't know what it is, but try to find out more about the hymen. It's the only thing I can think of that would "break" down there.

you probably broke your hymen. its mostly just a useless piece of tissue that usually breaks the first time you have sex, but sometimes rough activity will do that for you. dont worry though, its not important. its okay to ask your mom, but if you really don't want to, ask her to take you to the doctor...you need to be able to talk about things like that with your doctor, so no excuses there.

You need to tell your mom and show her what happened, she will know if it was from sex or masturbation. If you did "break" something she is the best one to tell you and she can take you to the doc so it can be fixed.

you should tell your mom about it and dont take that shower, it might become infected, so i would also go to the doctors to make sure everything is alright.
