In the clerks office we usually went back 7 years to do a background check. But call and check with the clerks office they will be happy to help you. You can also contact an attorney who could get this taken off you record.

The criminal background check goes back 10 years into your history most of the time. It depends upon how far they go back. With it being 8 years ago, and you were 18, they may not be too concerned with it. And unless it was a criminal DUI (most are traffic citations the first time, any after are criminal), it shouldn't show.
If they ask you about it, be honest and tell them the truth. But I would be surprised if they turn you down for something that was that far back.
If they run your driving record, that will show up. Those stay on your record for a very long time (in WI it stays on for 71 years). Again, just be honest about things, and it should go in your favor.

Hubby says: DUI is a motor vehicle violation and may not appear on a criminal background check. If your potential employer gets a synopsis of your driving record it will appear. If you want to avoid embarrassment, volunteer the DUI to your potential employer. It can only work in your favor if you're honest.

On a normal basis, background checks only go back 7 years. If you are placed on probation, and it is still in effect, then it does count. Also, when most companies run a background check they are looking for felonies.

It stays on your record and your credit report. Many companies are concerned about a felony conviction, not a DUI. But it can be construed as someone with a drinking problem so you might have some explaining to do.

yeah it somewhat is elementary for many businesses to attain this. in case you had an interview with the supervisor working example they might regularly say on the interview we pick you to take a drug try to run your application nevertheless a criminal historical past verify. in case you utilized on line it would say the comparable. yet yeah maximum businesses provides you with a drug try its kinda necessary now some states pending or dont do them. as quickly as youve surpassed the drug try to the criminal historical past section you are going to be sturdy to circulate. some situations a agency will basically hire you instantaneous reason there so desperate for help they look ahead to the outcomes and then if theres a situation they'll notify you and say hey you're no longer elligable for this activity. the agency will call and say the exams are in and you fail/surpassed. call the region in case you havent already and clarify who you're and say I utilized for this activity and im basically checking on the status of my application.

Yes, it will show up. Will they not hire you for something you did when you were 18, not sure. I have a friend that still has DUI's for over 20 years ago showing up. Good luck!

In the state of WV a DUI never goes off your record. A guy got a DUI 12 years ago and they put a 2nd DUI on him just recently

It will show up. You're best bet is to tell them about it before they do the background check. Then they won't be surprised. tell them it happened when you were young and stupid, but that you have learned your lesson and you won't do it anymore.
