There are many Golden Retrievers waiting to be rescued. There will probably be some young ones, but old enough to be housetrained, etc. already. Check out Seattle Purebred Rescue at http://www.spdrdogs.org/ and send Susan an email.

The pound / Humane Society. Buying from a breeder only encourages people to breed more dogs, and there are already more than can ever find homes.

if you dont mind adopting, then places like petfinder.com have really great dogs in need of rescue. If you want to shell out all of the money to purchase one from a breeder, there are all kinds of breeders you can find online.

www.petfinder.org or find a retriever rescue. Just type in the type of retriever and rescue in a search engine. Then narrow it down to your area. Rescue is always my first recomendation.

I went to the humane society. People were nice and I adopted a cute great dane that would have been put to sleep perm. if I had not taken him.
