The term Spitz is a general one, and cover many many types of dogs. From Pomeranian, to Chows, to American Eskimos and Samoyed's. They are all considered to be in the Spitz family!

Spitz is a type of dog, not a breed. Although the American Eskimo used to be referred to as a Spitz when I was younger.

Are you talking about the Finnish Spitz? if so, check the AKC website - they've got all the purebreds there.
