Being in good condition.
Regular exercise helps, so does eating right and reducing stress. You will still get a high rate when you exercise or have a stressful situation, but it wont be as high as before.

Slow heart rate(bradycardia) can be caused by an intake of certain drugs such as beta-blockers or as a result of thyroid hormone deficiency (myxoedema). However,it is most often caused by an abnormality in the electrical activity of the heart.I advise you to have an ECG done...good luck!!

Heart rate can really vary from day to day, even from minute to minute. You'd have to take it more often than once every six years to get an accurate number.
