I won't say that I have never given a speech because of my phobia, but some people seem to enjoy or do not mind giving speeches and I find myself up all night worrying about it, and then often I mess up. Sometimes this phobia extends to not being able to raise my hand in class. Please help. Would it help to take a drug before getting on stage? What worked for you?

HI, im Dan and we share the same phobia. In recent years i have been able to overcome my fears, by good preperation. make a list of facts for your presentation or speech. I feel it is hepful to choose a person or a few people in the audiance to keep in eye contact with preferably in the back of the room and in the middle. One key part of getting ready for a persentation is prayer or meditation it sounds funny but you will be amazed by the results. It has worked for me. try it and if it doesnt work well try it again. Good luck!

I wouldn't go around taking drugs but you have to just try it, and give it experience. Clearly, you have this phobia because you care about what others think of you, or how you come on to others. If you can let that go and just force yourself to public speaking, It wouldn't be a problem.
