I posted this earlier, but I wanted to see if I coudl get some diffrent answers now that I have a few more details...

I have shoulder lenght hair, in three VERY distinctent layers about an inch apart.

I want to make my hair look very messed up, kind of stringy, but withoug gelling it with three pounds of hair products.

In the end, I want it to look gungy-rock style.

My hair is shoulder length(as I said) and it has a natural curl to it that turns into a ugly wave when brushed. I like to straigten it, but if anyone has tips on how to make a very light curl (without looking prissy and done-up, I still wnat it to look messed up) that woudl be nice.

My hairs themselves are fine, but overall is REALLY thick.
Another reason why I use the straightener.

I want to mess it up, while keeping it fairly flat (I don't need anymore body then I already have).

I have 2 peices in front dyed napalm orange (thus the need for a rocker look, I'm doing bright as hell punk colors everywhere), so I CAN'T do bangs, it would kill the look.

have your hair stylist to cut your hair with a razor it will make it look messy...and to point cut some sexy angled bangs towards your face.

Well, If you want curls then i would recommend Loreal Paris Hot Spring curling spray. All you have to do is spray it on a section of your hair and then you curl it with an curling iron. Now if you want some rock style then you should ask someone to braid your hair sraight back and leave it braided for 24 hours. And then after 24 hours you take the french braids out and then it would look stringy, curly, and pretty bouncy rockish like.

Is a round brush, and blow dry your hair upside down, then pull up. See how it looks, and if it doesn't work out, use a flat iron and fix it up. Try some curl defining formulas, they are super cheap at Walmart!

Good luck ~ Elle

Get side swept bangs. Really nice rocker hairstyle :]. If you're using a straightener you could try getting a curler and curl all your hair so its not puffy then straighten your bangs put your hair upside down and put gel and mess it all around where you want it to be. Just not to much gel. :]

Hope that helps.
