Yes because some people aren't in their right state of minds when they say things like that. What happens one day if they are in that state of mind again and actually follow through with it. My friend had a brother like that, and he threatened to kill the whole family she said she was scared of him and locked her bedroom door at night because he had a gun and practiced shooting with it. He also got teased alot, came from a poor family and threatened to kill kids at school. Obviously anyone threatening to kill someone else is not mentally in the right state of mind and it is definitely not normal. You don't see Mother Teresa walking around telling people that she is going to kill them or Dr. Phil saying 'I'm going to Kill you Robin." So take the threats seriously, and tell someone else about it, even seek help. Good luck.

i think i would be worried if you felt they were being kind of nasty about it as well........I'm sure they don't mean it literally but obviously i don't know the family member but you shouldnt feel this kind of fear at all especially not from a family member. Try and sort things out with that person if you can, maybe they were just over-reacting to something.
Just don't get yourself killed!!

With my family I would definitely be concerned. In my situation, most of them don't know where I live and those who do would be hard pressed to get here. If they did manage to get here, I can most assuredly take care of myself.
If you are being threatened and you take the threat seriously, consider getting a restraining order. Family or not, anyone threatening to kill you should be taken seriously.

If I worried every time a family member threatened to kill me - and at the time they ALWAYS sounded convincing - I'd be in a straight jacket by now!
Though if my family members had listened to ME when I threatened to kill THEM - they might be alive today..........

when i was younger my father said i would be better of dead..my dad was a man who didn't have respect for life, or how people felt or anything, he always made me feel that if he took my life or my moms it wouldn't matter..so my mom went to this consular because she was being abused at the time and not thinking clear..and asked if my husband is saying this what should i do..the person told her that he sounds like he means it and i would take steps to get away from him..so soon after that my parents divorced it wasn't easy, and i really as sad as it is didn't want to see him again because i felt he had 11yrs to prove himself and i was done..
So if you think the person is a threat to you, and you have something to do with them, i would meet them in a public place, or always have someone i could trust with me, i wouldn't ever let my guard down, and if i could i would stay away..and let them have time away from me..if be the rest of your life then alright if not and they get over this wonderful but you don't need to feel this way..

Get a protective order from Police Dept. If some thing happens your cover at least they know who did it and if you have to kill them in self defense it will help.... plus maybe you won't worry so much....Thanks <:3 }~

yes! take your worries to the police, they will often have a word with the the member of the family.
That member will then know if anything happened to you they would be the first one picked up.

Yes
When it happened to me I wrote it down, sealed it in an envelope and gave it to a trusted friend to be given to the police if I were to die unexpectedly.
Threats should always be taken seriously.
