For some it is the religion of their childhood and they miss the social aspect of worship. That is what I was told by a friend of mine who is 71 and just went back to the church. She says it doesn't matter where her soul gets nourished as long as it's nourished.

Some pagans were converted and got to bring all their pagan customs with them. So the conversions was easy they didn't really have to change anything. They were sanctioned by the Church. Which gave them creditability.
But then there was a small minority who believed strange customs that the church didn't sanction. Because they had the power to control them and they were poor. Besides they were a threat to making money for the church. Kind of like now, the Christian church picks and choses which laws to obey.
Republicans are for big business and has cut most programs for the poor and needy. Refuses to raise the minimun wage so people can make a living wage. While raiseing there wages for the rich 10 times. But since they are supported by religion has to be against something everyone can agree on, so they say no same sex marriage. Homosexuals are small in number and typically don't vote. The average women who gets an abortion is young, unmarried and doesn't vote. So they are the sacrificial lamb. We are against abortion. And they didn't even have to stop it to get creditability. Just to say they are against it gets them support. Just like stem cell research. We are against that.
Knowing that the medical community can get around that.
But speaking out gives them creditability.
So it is more how much money and power you have wether you keep your pagan customs or not. Pagan holidays makes a lot of money for big business. Don't see that going away any time soon.

So far I've known one Buddhist who converted to Christianity and she's a nutcase. All the other pagans I know converted FROM Christianity.
But the point of religious tolerance is that it has to go in all directions. You have to do what works for you. I've met a lot of Christians who were good people and happy with their faith. Not all of them are jerks--just the loud ones.

I believe most of them converted because the Christians and Hebrews forced them . . . they killed pagan men and forced their women and children to convert, or tortured or threatened individuals with harm to convert, converted them without them realizing what they were doing, and actively destroying any methods of passing on paganism to the next generation. Very few people actually converted of their own free will.

I think that we are "called" to the faith or to "God" in the best way that suits us.

There are enough religion wars being fought. Don't bring the pagans into too.

This kind of counter acts what you believe in, doesn't it?
